Malaysia Visa Rules

Visa is of utmost concern while traveling to any foreign country. Regarding Malaysian Visa, here are given certain facts:

The citizens of Canada do not need a visa for traveling to Malaysia for up to 3 months for business trips and tourism purposes.
Further than the date of entry into Malaysia, passports should be valid for as a minimum of six months.
If a national passport is not recognized by the Malaysian Government, the person must have a document instead of passport available at the nearest Malaysian Mission overseas.
Each visitor to Malaysia must fill in a Disembarkation Card (IMM. 26). And on arrival, it should be handed be to the Immigration Officer along with the national passport.
Even for traveling between Sabah and Sarawak, a passport/travel document is essential.
Visitor passes, issued for entry into Peninsular Malaysia, are not applicable for entry into Sarawak. New visit passes must be taken on arrival at entry-point in Sarawak.
Permanent residents or citizens of different countries must check the Visa requirements for Malaysia.

Malaysia Visa Requirements
Malaysian consulate and embassy, handles the task of issuing Visa to the visitors. Other entry procedures and visa requirements are given here:

Citizens of Bangladesh, China, Bhutan, Cuba, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, North Korea, Nepal, Myanmar, Taiwan, Vietnam and all Certificate of Identity (CI) holders must get a visa prior to entering into Malaysia.
Commonwealth Nationals (apart from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka), British Protected Persons or Nationals of Ireland, Switzerland, Netherlands, San Marino and Liechtenstein, do not require a visa to enter Malaysia.
For a Social and Business not beyond three months, the nationals of Norway, Sweden, Italy, United States of America, Albania, Austria, Algeria, Belgium, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Czech Republic, Republic of Slovakia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Bahrain, Jordan, North Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Tunisia, do not need a visa.
For a Social and Business visit not beyond one month, the citizens of ASEAN countries do not need a visa to enter Malaysia.
For a Social and Business visit not more than 14 days, the nationals of Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and South Yemen do not need a visa.
For a Social and Business visit not beyond one week, the nationals of Bulgaria, Romania and Russia do not need a visa.
For a Social and Business visit not beyond one month, the nationals of countries excluding those stated above (apart from Serbia Montenegro and Israel) are permissible to enter Malaysia without a visa.
Any visitor, planning to visit whichever part of Malaysia, requires only one visa to travel straight from one part of the country to another.

Types of Visa
The Malaysian Government issues three (3) types of visa to foreign nationals, stated below:

Single Entry Visa
It is issued to foreign citizens, who need a visa to enter Malaysia primarily for a social or business visit. As the name suggests, it is usually valid for a single entry. From the date of issue, it is valid for a period of 3 months.

Multiple Entry Visa
It is issued to foreign citizens, who need a visa to enter Malaysia primarily for business visit or government to government issues. From the date of issue, it is usually valid for a period within 3 to 12 months.

Transit Visa
It is issued to foreign citizens, who need a visa to enter Malaysia on transit to other countries. Foreign Nationals on transit, who wouldn't leave the airport precincts and continue their flight to the next destination, do not need a transit visa.

Kota Kinabalu formerly Jesselton, is the capital of Sabah state in Malaysia. It is also the capital of the West Coast Division of Sabah. The city is located on the northwest coast of Borneo facing the South China Sea. The Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park lies on one side and Mount Kinabalu, which gave the city its name, is nearby. Kota Kinabalu proper has a population of 579,304, while the larger urban area has an estimated population of 700,000. It is the largest urban centre in Sabah and the sixth largest in Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur, is the capital and largest city of Malaysia. The city proper, making up an area of 244 km2 (94 sq mi), has an estimated population of 1.6 million in 2006.Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.2 million. It is the fastest growing metropolitan region in the country, in terms of population as well as economy.

Kuala Lumpur is defined within the borders of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and is one of three Malaysian Federal Territories. It is an enclave within the state of Selangor, on the central west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.Residents of the city are known as KL cites.

Protected by the Titiwangsa Mountains in the east and Indonesia's Sumatra Island in the west, Kuala Lumpur has a year-round equatorial Tropical rain forest climate (Köppen climate classification Af) which is warm and sunny, along with abundant rainfall, especially during the northeast monsoon season from October to March. Temperatures tend to remain constant. Maximums hover between 31 and 33 °C (88 and 91 °F) and have never exceeded 37 °C (99 °F), while minimums hover between 22 and 23.5 °C (72 and 74 °F) and have never fallen below 19 °C (66 °F). Kuala Lumpur typically receives 2,266 mm (89.2 in) of rain annually; June and July are relatively dry, but even then rainfall typically exceeds 125 mm (5 in) per month.

Flooding is a frequent occurrence in Kuala Lumpur whenever there is a heavy downpour, especially in the city centre and downstream areas.^[30] Dust particles from forest fires from nearby Sumatra sometimes cast a haze over the region. It is a major source of pollution in the city together with open burning, emission from motor vehicles and construction work.^[31]

Genting Highlands is a mountain peak within the Titiwangsa Mountains on the border between the states of Pahang and Selangor of Malaysia and is home to a famous mountain resort by the same name which can be reached by car from Kuala Lumpur in one hour. It is also accessible by the world's fastest and South East Asia's longest cable car called Genting Skyway (3.38km). In 2006, the resort had 18.4 million visitors.

Endau Rompin National Park is a protected tropical rainforest in Malaysia. It is an area south of the state of Pahang and to the northeast of Johor covering an approximate area of 870 km², effectively making it is the second largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia after Taman Negara, with approximately 26 km of trail. It is the second national park proclaimed by the government of Malaysia.

The park is one of the oldest tropical rainforest complexes in the world and features rock formations some 248 million years old. Apart from that, the park contains the largest remaining population of the threatened Sumatran rhinoceros species on the Malay Peninsula. Gunung Besar which is the second highest in Johor is located in the park.

The park takes it name from the Endau and Rompin rivers that flow through the park. Other rivers that flow through the parks are Segamat, Selai and Jasin.

During the monsoon season that covers from November till March, the park is closed to the public. Further, fishing is banned from September till October during mating season.

Each of the 35 gondolas can carry six persons. There are three stations all together, one at Oriental Village, while another two on Gunung Mat Cincang. The cable cars travel a distance of over 2 kilometers up a vertical height of 680 meters.

There are two cable car stops on Gunung Mat Cincang. The Middle Station is 1.7 kilometers from the bottom station. Both stations have viewing platforms that offer spectacular views of the Langkawi islands as well as mainland Kedah and even the Tarutao Islands of Thailand.

According to local folklore, Gunung Mat Cincang, Gunung Raya and another smaller peak, Bukit Sawar, were once all human beings. They all shared the same martial arts guru. According to the story, Mat Cincang's daughter was engaged to Mat Raya's son. However, there was a big quarrel between the two men on the wedding day that descended into a fight between the two childhood friends. Pots and pans and kitchen utensils were soon sent flying at each other's family. A big pot of curry for the wedding feast was overturned. It fell on a place in Langkawi now known as Belanga Pecah (Broken Cooking Pot). The gravy from the broken pot seeped into the ground at Kisap and stopped at Kuah (Gravy), Langkawi's capital.

A pot of hot water was also sent flying. The water dropped at Air Hangat (Hot Springs) while the pot itself with its ring handles fell into Selat Cincin (the Straits of Rings), the straits that separates Langkawi from Tarutao Islands of Thailand.

Eventually, Mat Sawar was able to stop the fight between Mat Cincang and Mat Raya. They were however transformed into mountains, with little Bukit Sawar wedged between Gunung Mat Cincang and Gunung Raya.

Cameron Highlands is a highland region located about 121 km east of Ipoh and about 214 km north of Kuala Lumpur, in Pahang, Malaysia. At 5,000 ft (1,500 m) above sea level it is the highest area on the mainland, enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 25 °C and rarely falls below 12°C year-round.

Key Attractions

	Ringlet	Ringlet is a very 1st station when you depart to Cameron Highlands using Tapah road. It is one of hub of Malaysia's local vegetable farm and international flower farm too.
	Tanah Rata	Tanah Rata is one of the major hub in Cameron Highland whereas it seats several hotels, parks and comercial centre. Main attraction in Tanah Rata is the Mardi Plantation Centre and its business centre. Several shops have been opened in the town including Starbucks Coffee. There is also a budget traditional Malay Kampung Homestay located at Kampung Taman Sedia. The people here are mainly Malay.

The mountain and its surroundings are among the most important biological sites in the world, with over 600 species of ferns, 326 species of birds, and 100 mammalian species identified. Among them are the gigantic Rafflesia plants and the orangutan. Mount Kinabalu has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status.

The main peak of the mountain (Low's Peak) can be climbed easily by a person with a good physical condition, and requires no mountaineering equipment. Other peaks along the massif, however, require rock climbing skills.
